Greater New Life Ministries

“I am crucified with Christ:  nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:  and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”  (Galatians 2:20)  Minister Jodie McGarity Jr., the son of Rev. Jodie McGarity Sr. and Joyce Buffin, is the Young Adult Minister at Greater New Life Christian Church in Taylor, TX under the leadership of Bishop, Dr. Billy Johns, and Associate Pastor, First Lady, Leticia Johns.  He is the husband of Mary McGarity, the daughter of Bishop and First Lady Johns.  Minister Jodie and Mary McGarity are the proud parents of one son and four daughters, Tarale, Daisha, Maya, Trinity and Kayla. 

 Minister McGarity is also the drummer in “Images of Christ”, a contemporary gospel group consisting of the Bishop and First Lady Johns’ six daughters.  Minister McGarity accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on November 13, 2000, and has been a faithful member of Greater New Life every since.  He admits that he finally gave into the calling that was prophesized on his life as a youth and is excited about proclaiming the name of Jesus!  He oversees the Young Adult ministry, Media ministry and also ministers to youth ministries about the negative effects of secular entertainment and life's challenges.  Minister McGarity is also a key board member of STAND (Standing Together Against Negative Demands), an organization created for the betterment of our youth through education, mentoring, networking and ministry.
